NASAs First Woman
NASAs First Woman is an interactive graphic novel developed by NASA. Available for iPhone, this educational and reference app allows users to explore the story of Callie, NASA's first woman astronaut. The graphic novels are XR (VR and AR) enabled, providing an immersive experience for readers.
With the NASAs First Woman app, users can download and walk through life-size scenes from the graphic novel. They can also interact with highlighted technologies that helped Callie and will support real astronauts in sustaining life on the Moon. The app features four explorable life-size environments and three 3D objects, providing a visually engaging experience.
In addition to the interactive elements, the app offers more information on the highlighted technologies and fun interactions with Callie's sidekick robot, RT, and the environments. Users can also take on challenges to become a First Woman Mission Specialist.
Please note that devices that do not support ARKit will not be able to access the XR-related functionality of the app.
